Jimmy Choo Shoes

Posted in: Shoes- Sep 28, 2010 No Comments

With Fall quickly approaching, it is time to start getting your Fall wardrobe together. As a woman we know the shoes make the outfit. I love Fall, the leaves changing colors and the crisp air that makes it perfect weather for a pumpkin spice latte. But my favorite part of Fall is getting my boots out. Jimmy Choo has put together a Fall/Winter collection that is a must have for any boot and high heel lover. Jimmy Choo has come out with a new collection called Choo 24:7, the “perfect show wardrobe.” With updated versions of Tamara Mellon’s favorite styles in a variety of colors, materials, and heel heights.

The collection includes seven covetable styles.  The ‘Perfect Weekend, a classic black and buckled biker boot. The ‘Perfect Flat in calf leather or suede for urban run around chic. The ‘Perfect Statement’, a leopard printed pony ankle boot with a high platform heel. The ‘Perfect Pull-On’, a nappa stretch boot for the sleekest of silhouettes. The ‘Perfect Pointy-Toe’, a modern classic, the ‘Perfect Round-Toe’, a new addition, the ‘Perfect Over-The-Knee’ and the ‘Perfect Platform’ all define a statement look.

In their Fall/Winter collection Jimmy Choo turns its focus to a tougher – albeit elegantly refined – sense of urban chic, with a line up of strong graphic shapes and bold design details such as sturdy lug soles, and dominatrix-corsetry lacing. Infuse to the mix luxurious shearling, a dash of leopard printed pony, and a host of Jimmy Choo design signatures – rivets, snake, and fringe – and feel empowered.

The notion of female empowerment has long been a mainstay of Jimmy Choo’s lexicon. Now, via bold print, provocative lines, and all-out sex appeal, Autumn Winter ushers in a host of beautiful, confidence-inducing styles.

This season Jimmy Choo is releasing it’s exclusive limited edition collaboration ‘UGG® & Jimmy Choo’.

A capsule collection based on the iconic UGG Australia sheepskin boot construction with design details that embody the spirit of the
Jimmy Choo brand.

Encompassing 5 styles in multiple color variations, the collection features the classic UGG boot with decorative Jimmy Choo studding, stars, grommets, leopard, zebra and hobo fringing detail. You can’t have Fall or Winter without hearing the words UGG boots. I am so excited about this collection, Jimmy Choo is one of my favorite shoe designers and UGGs are my all time favorite boots. You can pre order yours at JimmyChoo.com.

Jimmy Choo is a well known designer of women’s shoes. Not only can you find shoes from Jimmy Choo, you can buy accessories as well. What better to go with your leopard print pony ankle Jimmy Choo boot than a matching double zip handbag and a pair of Georgie sunglasses. If you do not have a Jimmy Choo store near you, you can order any of the collection pieces online.

Wilson Cirrus One BLX Tennis Racket

Wilson's New Cirrus One BLX Tennis Racket

Tennis isn’t just a sport for the young crowd. In fact, it is often played by retirees well into their sixties and even seventies. I’ve been playing for at least twelve years, and I will continue to play for as long as I can. Like myself, many seasoned tennis players have developed an affinity for a certain style or brand and tennis racket. I’ve been using the same Wilson tennis racket that was given to me by my friend’s father before I even started playing. It’s a great tennis racket that I’ve grown accustomed to using, but it’s now at least fourteen years old. I think it may be time for a change. After a few hours of online researching, I’ve discovered a tennis racket that I can’t take my eyes off of. It’s Wilson’s new Cirrus One BLX tennis racket. With a retail price of $300 (unstrung), I’ll certainly have to demo it before purchasing, as every tennis racket responds differently to the person using it. Having read many great reviews, I’m hoping it’s a perfect match for me. Read more »

The Perfect Pencil by Faber-Castell

Posted in: Pens and Writing Instruments- Aug 25, 2010 No Comments

The Perfect Pencil by Faber-CastellThere’s nothing quite like the smell of a graphite pencil. For some, it conjures joyful memories of grade school, while for others, long days spent in the drafting room. One thing’s for sure, whether you’re drafting, drawing, sketching, or writing, the Faber-Castell’s Perfect Pencil is nothing like the yellow #2 pencils many of us are accustomed to using.

A Brief Faber-Castell History

Faber-Castell is the oldest and largest manufacturer of wood-cased pencils in the world. Founded in 1761, Faber-Castell has a rich and varied history. In it’s early years of operation, the company enjoyed great success, however, as the next generation of family members took over, Faber-Castell’s sales began declining. During a two generation period of time, Faber-Castell’s successes looked more like hills and valleys than a steady, ever increasing arrow. It wasn’t until the company’s 4th generation that things started looking bright. Under the control of Lothar von Faber in 1839, Faber-Castell became a leading innovator and first name branded pencil manufacturer. In fact under Lothar’s reign, Faber-Castell developed the hexagonal pencil to prevent it from rolling – a design that is still used today. However, the success was somewhat short-lived. Since Lothar’s death, the company faced major setbacks including disappearing almost completely. Thankfully, Faber-Castell reestablished itself in the 1990s as a maker of high-end writing instruments and graphic arts supplies. Read more »

Nautilus Mobia TreadmilIt’s nice to see a treadmill that doesn’t look like a giant industrial spaceship. The Nautilus Mobia Treadmill is sleek and refined. In fact, it looks as if it was designed by Apple! The Nautilus Mobia Treadmill is a reinvention of the treadmill. Part treadmill and stair climber with a low impact workout of an elliptical machine, the Nautilus Mobia Treadmill can burn twice the amount of calories of a regular treadmill in the same amount of time. (To meet this claim, the regular treadmill is set on 3 mph at a 0% incline for thirty minutes, and the Nautilus Mobia Treadmill is set on 3 mph with a resistance setting of 12 for thirty minutes.)
